1. Agreement
By accessing or using Sabbath Together ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms; we will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms, except where applicable law requires additional notice or consent.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service. You are responsible for your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate profile information and keep it current. You may not impersonate others, create accounts for abusive purposes, or share accounts in ways that circumvent safety or enforcement.
3. The Service
Sabbath Together helps people find and host Sabbath-related gatherings, connect in communities, and communicate through features such as listings, maps, channels, and direct messages. We may add, change, or discontinue features. The Service is offered "as is" and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
4. Community guidelines and acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. Without limitation, you must not:
- Harass, threaten, defraud, or abuse others; promote violence; or discriminate unlawfully.
- Post or share illegal content, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Spam, scrape, or use automated means to access the Service in a way that impairs stability, security, or other users' experience.
- Attempt to bypass access controls, probe for vulnerabilities, or access data you are not authorized to view.
- Use the Service to organize activity that is illegal where you or participants are located.
We may investigate reports, remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and work with authorities when required by law. See also in-app reporting tools where available (for example, on community surfaces such as the Sabbath Wall).
5. Hosts and gatherings
If you create or manage a gathering listing, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you publish (time, location, accessibility, expectations, and any house rules). You are responsible for compliance with local laws, venue rules, and reasonable safety for guests. Sabbath Together does not supervise in-person events and is not a party to arrangements between hosts and attendees. You represent that you have the right to use addresses and images you provide.
6. Your content and license
You retain rights to content you submit. To operate the Service, you grant Sabbath Together a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your content solely to run, improve, and promote the platform (including moderation and safety). This license ends when your content is deleted, subject to reasonable backup and legal retention.
7. Messaging and privacy
Treat direct messages and channels as you would private or semi-private conversations: respect boundaries and applicable law. Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal data. In limited circumstances, staff or administrators may access conversations when necessary for safety, support, or enforcement, as described there.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on providers (for example, authentication, hosting, email, maps, and analytics when you opt in). Their terms and privacy policies may also apply. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
9. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that listings are accurate, that gatherings are safe, or that any particular result will occur from using the platform.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sabbath Together and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability arising out of these terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars, except where limited by law.
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Sabbath Together and its operators against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your gatherings, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these terms or applicable law, to the extent permitted by law.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time for conduct that we believe violates these terms, creates risk, or is required for legal or operational reasons. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including licenses for content already used, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) will survive termination.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State in which the operator of Sabbath Together is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local consumer protections apply. Courts in that State have exclusive jurisdiction unless applicable law requires otherwise. If you are in the EEA, UK, or other regions with mandatory rights, nothing in these terms limits those rights.
14. Contact
For questions about these terms, contact us through support or feedback options in the app or via published contact details on the website.
